Can You lose Weight Without Trying?

Can you lose weight without trying?

Who are you trying to kid?

I have lost weight, but since it’s been a while since my last post it isn’t very much.

I’ve lost about 7lbs, not much I know but at least it’s going the right way.  My weight loss is probably due to the extra exercise that I have had doing the vegetable garden than anything else.

The way I look at it, is that it has taken years for me to put on my extra weight so I shouldn’t expect to get rid of it in the blink of an eye.

If I lose it nice and steady on a regular basis I won’t feel as though I am ‘on a diet’

I’ve tried to watch what I eat.  I can eat quite healthily for most of the time, but my one weakness is chocolate, my own personal diet heaven (delicious) and diet hell (too many calories!).  Chocolate sometimes is almost an addiction, it is definitely a habit I need to break but I’m not yet in the right mindset for that.

The right mindset I think has a lot do with the ability to lose weight.  Your mind is a powerful tool and it can either keep you focused or it can sabotage your best intentions.

To Diet or Not to Diet that is the Question

No it's not a question, it's definitely time to diet! The scales, my body and my health tell me so!

I tried to diet many years ago, and I did actually lose a couple of stone, so I do know what I should or should not be eating.

My weight can has been a type of sneaky sort. I stay the same weight for a long time, sometimes years, and then for some reason I will put on a few pounds quite quickly. Instead of doing something about it then I ignore it and then later down the road a few more pounds go on.

I must be reasonably good at the maintenance lark, because I had been at my last weight for at least five years, until this last autumn when I suddenly put on a stone in weight and it was well before Christmas.

I sometimes think I should loose weight but that's as far as it gets, thinking about it, life gets in the way of the rest.

I think age is now playing a part and my body is not liking the extra weight it is carrying, I know that I will feel a lot better if I loose it but staying focused will be a problem.

Weight loss is a terrible thing, dieting, if you are not careful, can take over your life. Weight loss is meant to be a life change not an obsession.

I need to find myself an interesting diet, not too fussy or complicated.

To improve weight loss and my overall fitness I also need to find an exercise programme. I've never exercised apart from my gardening and now I sit at a desk too long during the week.
